SMN SCIENCE WEEK March 10—13, 2009

Dear Parents and Students,

The Science Department of Sekolah Mutiara Nusantara will be holding its annual Science Week on March 10 - 13, 2009 with a theme “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind.” The objectives of this event are:

1. Promote academic excellence specifically in the field of Science and Health.
2. Enhance students’ ability and skills through friendly competition.
3. Promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among participating students.
4. Reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom through practical activities.
5. Develop pride and ownership in the work that they do.
6. Promote health by nurturing healthy students and educators. 

In this regard, we would like to invite you participate and support the following activities:

• Walk-A-Thon (“Walk for a Healthy life”) - Tuesday, March 10, 2009 @ 08:00 - 09:00
• Poster - Making Contest - March 10 - 11, 2009 (during Science Class)
• Slogan - Making Contest - March 10 - 11, 2009 (during Science Class)
• 2nd annual Science Olympiad (Quiz Bee) - Thursday, March 12, 2009
• Elementary @ 08:20—11:20, Secondary @ 13:20 - 14:40
• Exhibition/Display of Science Project - Friday, March 13, 2009 @ 08:30 - 09:50
• (Exhibition is also open during morning, afternoon and lunch break).
• Funfair Games - Friday, March 13, 2009 @ 10:00—11:20
• Bazaar (Healthy Food) - Friday, March 13, 2009 @ 12:40—14:40. Students are encouraged to bring extra money for this activity (this day only).
• Health Corner - Friday, March 13, 2009. Invited Doctors and Dentists to provide health check up and health talk to your children.
